    1. Something I learned from the article is that the americans did not even win the battle of bunker hill. You would think that a battle they have a monument for would be a win, but yet america has a monument for a battle they lost which is kind of interesting. -bethany scuderi

  2. I find it very interesting that the battle of bunker hill , and us winning it was a lie. I think the main reason the author is mad about it is because it went unnoticed for like 100 years. It doesn't help that a supposed "historically accurate" game like assassins creed has it. I've play that game and for some as major as bunker hill was to be done wrong is a bit annoying.

  3. The thing that was interesting about the Battle of Bunker Hill to me was casualties difference. The British had way more deaths compared to the colonists and they still won. The British had 1054 deaths in only 2 hours of battle when the colonists had over 400. The other thing that was interesting was that people watched the battle on hills nearby. That was interesting because usually people are afraid of gunfire and war, but people spectated the war.

  9. One thing that i found interesting was that even though the British lost more than double the casualties of colonists, they still won. Also I found it interesting that the Battle of Bunker Hill wasnt even fought on Bunker Hill.

  11. Boston used to be basically an island before being filled in with tons of acres of hills. Also, 1 in 5 Boston families owned slaves and the city was known for American independence but at first they were very pro-England rule. British soldiers were also some of the best trained for war unlike colonials who had little to no training and were exhausted before entering the war.The British had a disadvantage though because they did not know the land well and many soldiers went down in groups. Many soldiers died on both sides with the British side ending with more casualties. This war is often done incorrectly in movies even though it was very important to American history.

  12. Although I knew that the battle of bunker hill was a loss it still surprises me that it took place on Breed’s hill not Bunker hill. Then when they built the monument it was on Breed’s hill as well. Although the British took both hills the majority of the fighting took place on Breed’s hill.

  15. An interesting thing that i found in the article was that the Americans lost this battle which is weird seeing how its very well known. usually the wins are well known. The winning from the British is weird seeing how they lost way more lives than the Americans you would think the Americans would win with the advantage of that.

  19. One thing I learned while reading the battle of bunker hill article was that the battle it self wasn't even fought on bunker hill! I also found it interesting that the Americans would only fire if the British were 50 yards away.

  20. I learned in this article that Boston used to be like an island. It was only connected by a narrow piece of land called a neck. This would a disadvantage in the Bunker Hill Battle for the colonists because it would have been hard to get supplies like ammunition that ultimately cost them the battle. That could of been on of the was how the colonists lost the battle.
